WindowsME/acting like it's in safe mode?

Thank-you Col,
The desktop screen does NOT have safe mode in any of the corners so you are right. I guess all the drivers are not loading. I backed-up everything yesterday and reinstalled Windows ME yet the same animated screen appears. Any more ideas to get back to normal mode. Thank once again for you knowledge!! Is there a way to get all drivers loaded? I did a misconfig, then did a selective start-up as well as a normal start-up AND a diagnostic start-up...I'm perplexed. Any advice is very much appreciated!!

ME like a lot of the different versions of Windows doesn't come with full driver support so at a guess I would say that you should have another Driver CD some place with the Video Drivers on it.

Failing that when you first boot up before the POST screen appears you should get a description of your Video Card in the top Left Hand corner of the screen. It may take a couple of reboots to get the complete script but you can always go to

http://www.drivers.com/

And get the necessary drivers for your Vedio Card.

Col
