I have a Gateway laptop that has Win ME installed from the factory. I need to add the line FILES=85 to the config.sys file ir order to connect properly with a DOS accounting program. When I reboot the computer, Windows overwrites the edited config.sys file with it’s own that is empty. How do I stop Windows ME from doing this?
