WindowsME Recycle Bin Problem

Good day!! I have a WinME OS, the problem is when i empty my recyle bin it takes so long or even my computer hangs that i have to reset my computer. I have a athlon 900cpu, i had also tried to reinstall my OS but same thing happens.
