Wingate and Raptor firewall coexists on

By tchieng ·
I have an NT Server (ver 4.0 with SP5) running the Raptor firewall v6.0 system. I'm having problems using programs that access the Internet directly. Say for example: Napster or Scour Exchange can't communicate with their login servers from behind the firewall. Anyone know how I enable this?

If it can't be done. Can I install and run WinGate on the server with the Raptor Firewall? Will I be able to use Scour Exchange with WinGate?

You need open the ports that these applications use to communicate with the Internet. Check the website for the program or look in the Raptor log. If a port is blocked and you run an application that tries to use that port, Raptor will record a error in the log. You can learn what port to open by reading those error messages.

My guess is that Wingate would not run on the same server as Raptor. As a security pratice, you should never run any other software directly on the firewall itself.

Good suggestions... I tried looking for a port error, but all I find is "400 URL error" whatever that means... I don't know. Thanks for the help. I'll give you 50% of the points since the problem still exists.
