Wininit.exe

By cornbread ·
Due to a suspected virus problem, wininit.exe
was deleted. How do I restore it? Is it necessary to reinstall windows 98 SE?
When I send e-mails with attachments, the
attachments show up as win.dat files. Is this the same problem?

Extract a new copy of the Wininit.exe file from your original Windows 95/98
disks or CD-ROM to the Windows folder. In Windows 95, the Wininit.exe file is
located in the Win98_11.cab cabinet file on the Windows 98 CD-ROM
For more information about using the Extract tool, click Start, point to
Programs, click MS-DOS prompt, type "extract" (without the quotation marks),
and then press ENTER.
