WinME save password for dialup connectio

If you right click on the internet explorer icon and go to properties or the tools internet options within iexplorer. Select the connections tab, here you will see some options that say (never dial internet connect, dial when connection not present, and always dial default connection.
At the moment it's probably set to dial then there's no connection which will dial as soon as you open iexplorer, if you change this setting to never dial a connection this will solve your first problem. Next time you open iexplorer a dialog box will appear which will show your username and password(password will be in ***** format) there are some options at the bottom of this box one of them is save password just untick it.
I hope this helps

Microsoft Knowledge Base contains articles re: save password option not available for selection/password not saved. (WIN95/98)When logon password is not created - 'Cancel' selected in logon password window the circumstance you describe occurs. Select 'OK' at logon password, creates null string password if password field is left blank. This resolves the problem in WIN95/98.
