I am trying to replace a winmodem with a new modem. The new modem will not connect (keeps disconnecting). The lines have already been checked, cleared and have dial tone. I do not have the disk for or know who made the old modem. My friend said I need to download and run a winmodem removal utility before the new modem will work. I can’t find such a utility. Can anyone direct me to it?
