WINNT or Win2000?

By b.schmidt ·
This may be naive, but ...

What advatages does WINNT server have over Win2000 server?

I am looking at installing a server (group) into an enterprise that has no Windows-based servers. It would seem that most aren't migrating to 2000 because they are already running NT. ??

Are there any good resources on this topic?

Thank you for your time.

WINNT or Win2000?

There is alot of planning that needs to go into an upgrade of an existing network. Since it sounds like you would be building you NT environment from scratch you have the luxery of designing and planning how your 2000 architecture should look.

If you are building a new network I would recommend that you start with Win2000. This will save the frustration of upgrading in the future when MS drops support for NT. If you do your homework your install a great network with 2000.
I would usemicrosoft.com for my first resouce - they do have a some good information about deploying 2000.
