l have windows Nt network - With One PDC and 3bdc
and 100 win95 PCs on the LAN. l having a problem mapping shares accross network. l have been told that win95 pCs cannot mapp across network and someone suggested l configure wins to allow this to happen. My question is can l configure the PDC to be wins server? or can use one of bdc to be a wins servr? Also are there any problems l should be aware off since this is a production environment?

You can use either your PDC or any BDC as a WINS server. You may want to have WINS installed on two of your servers and run them simultaneously, synchronizing between the two, just in case one goes down. As long as you have the latest service packs installed for NT4.0 you should not have any problems doing this. Just install WINS, set your workstations to use the correct IP address for your WINS server(s) either manually or through DHCP settings, and every workstation and server on your network will automatically register itself with the WINS server(s).

Post back if you need any other aassistance. Hope this helps!
