I’m trying to reach a server on my DMZ. I can ping it. I can tracert it. However, I cannot connect to it via the command line “\\ipaddress\c$”.
When I do so NT returns an error:
“There are currently no logon servers available to service the logonrequest.”
Other servers on the DMZ have never given me this error message. On MSTechNet, I found article Q139410, which tells me this is a WINS error. I tried the workaround (static mappings), but I don’t think WINS is involved with this logon, because the request should be going out to the firewall and to the DMZ.
