Wins Server Problem

By singhashwani ·
Windows 2000 server is DC with wins server configured. First only one nic card was installed, every thing was working fine with
ip address x.x.x.x
Subnet mask y.y.y.y
gateway z.z.z.z

Then for backup we install another nic card was installed. Problem start some people can access some other servers. I had check every thing fine ok. Then checked wins server the owner which was x.x.x.x was changed to new ip address of new card i.e a.a.a.a due to which problem start.

Can any one help me out disabling second nic card to wins server or it should not take as owner in wins server.

Thank in advance

Configure your DHCP server (or whatever delivers your WINS server addresses to clients to use both addresses...when the first one fails, it will automatically use the second). ALso, make sure both addresses are in the WINS database themselves.
