Wins2k Pro physical dumping of memory

By s_mehal ·
One of the computers at work is giving a blue screen and giving the error message of dumping the physcial memory before it reboots itself. This happens everytime windows 2000 Pro loads. What is the possible cause and solutions for this problems? Is this a hardware related problem or lack of memory?

When the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) appears, you need to note the address, and the modules involved, in order to troubleshoot the problem.
Posting the BSOD message here, as a comment, would be appreciated.

I have encountered this on two different systems so far. The problem on both machines was a driver conflict! One system had a scanner attached, it was using driver for WinNT. This driver was completely removed and that ended the annoying memory dumpscreen. The other had a older printer installed, the NT drivers are removed and end of problem.
There is a means of reading the memory dump file that is created, look into the help files for info. Also Microsoft web site has info on this annoying feature. Also the addition of sp2 for win2k is a big help.
