winspool.drv error on my Win-ME notebook

By vicstone ·
During WinME boot, my Notebook gets 2 messages: WINSPOOL.DRV was not found & error loading POWRPROF.DLL. As a result, most programs won't execute, I can't reinstall WinME (error - SUWIN caused GPF in module VERX.DLL @ 0002:24AE), upgrade to WinXP & install any software. My Notebook has NO floppy. I ran SCANPM.EXE in DOS - no viruses. Files/Folders are good. Please Help!

these files do not have anything to do with execution of programs so they will not be the cause of the programs booting up, me is a very problematic os and I would recommend upgrading to xp, make sure that you have enough memory and your processor is fast enough as xp can be unbearable slow on a small machine, you may want to think of going to 2000 pro, also you do not need a floppy dive to do this as you can boot from the cd or you can run the xp upgrade from within me.

I have WinME on my notebook. 2.4Ghz processor, 512MB RAM. Upgrade to WinXP failed as I described before. I need to fix WINSPOOL.DRV/POWRPROF.DLL error first. Could someone please help me!
