I’m running SBS with the RRAS VPN up and running. I have an XP user that wants to hit our VPN from home. I’ve verified that the user has all necessary permissions to log on to the VPN. Before I installed a Linksys low-end firewall, the user could use XP to hit the VPN just fine. Ever since the firewall was put up, we get an “Error 800: VPN server is either not available or not responding” message.
I’ve looked at my firewall settings and I’m allowing both IPsec passthrough and PPTP passthrough. I do not have any other special ports blocked. I can log on to the VPN from a Win2k machine and a WinME machine.
From what I figure, it’s got to be some setting on the XP machine that I dont’ know about… or the VPN is blocking the traffic coming in. I’ve checked logs and I see the user’s ip hitting us and successful TCP packets going through the firewall… I’m stumped. Can anyone help?
