Hi, I just received a gateway mt6707 laptop with a preinstalled windows vista home premium on it. I wish to successfully install Windows XP on it because most of my other devices (midi controllers and soundcards) doesn’t have Vista drivers on their websites.
At first, the installation disc wouldn’t recognize the hard drive, so I researched and found a way how to integrate the motherboard SATA controller using the NLite application.
I integrated this driver (text mode) onto the installation program:
Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M/DH)
Finally, the installation program recognized the SATA hard drive, and I was able to partition it and start installing.
However on the part where the windows logo appears on a black screen with the green bar under it moving horizontally appears for the first time, BSOD appears for a split second( I can’t even pause it so I can view the details ) and reboots.
Is there any setting that I am missing, any driver I failed to integrate? Thanks.
