WinXP internet problem

By bennie ·
I have a WinXP Pro PC om my network that connects to the internet, verifies Username and Password, but won't open a browser page. I can ping in command prompt, and in DailUp Monitor there is traffic in both ways. The errorpage lists a DNS error, butI can't seem to spot the setting to be changed. can someone please help

Regards
Bennie

Are your DNS settings configured correctly?

Most ISP's these days automatically assign the DNS address. It sounds like you may have manually assigned an invalid DNS. If so, set it back to automatic and see what changes.

Thanx for the idea, although I checked all the DNS settings everywhere, they were all set to automatic (or empty)
