WinXP loses network connectivity

By bass22lsu ·
I got my laptop back from the warranty company that did some repairs. It appears that they replaced my wireless NIC because it has a totally new MAC address. I gave the laptop all of the necessary permissions to access the network via the wireless access point and it works great for about 15 minutes. It'll connect at 54 Mbps and slowly go down to 48, 36, 24, and then goes offline. When I attempt to re-connect, it doesn't even recognize any wireless networks and if it does, it won't resolve an IP address. It is an Intel pro wireless 2200 BG and I never had problems before. Rebooting does not work. If I let the laptop sit for about a day, then I get another 15 minutes of connectivity. I have no problem with the CAT5 connection, but the wireless is the one I want to use. I have done the winsock fix and just about everything else that any of the forums suggest. Nothing has helped.
