WinXP network access

By xnscisd ·
We have a LAN with Win98, WinNT, Win2000 OS'es running. Lately, new machines are installed running WinXP Pro. The Local Area Network Properties:
1. Client MicroSoft Networks
2. File and Print Sharing for MicroSoft Networks
3. QoS Packet Scheduler
4. Internet Protocol [TCP/IP]

My problem is that some WinXP Pro machines cannot see/browse, and connect to shared resources from the Workgroups and the computers under them.

The Win98 computers have NetBeui and TCP/IP protocols.

How do I configure my WinXP Pro LAN to be able to see, browse and connect to shared resources.

In explorer, go to Tools\Folder Options and select view. At the bottom untick use simple file sharing.
This may help.

There have been many problems like this, try this site:

i had a similar trouble of the Xp not seeing w2k pro mach's. Try after you set up networking ip's
etc. if you can not see others log onto internet
with explorer I ran across this in a obscure
xp fix.

good luck
