Make sure that the driver is working

by real_shock_11 In reply to WinXP not on Network

Hi :
i don't know if the printer is printing on the computer itself . if it isn't then make sure that the driver installed is the right one. if the printer is an LPT printer check the cable pins. when the printer works move to the next step. you share the printer by right clicking the printer or from the properties . if your network configured correctly the printer should appera in the my network places. i mean that all the PCs should be joined into the same workgroup.

try all that stuff and call me back

File and Printer sharing for MS networks

by LiamE In reply to WinXP not on Network

Make sure that the service 'File and Printer sharing for MS networks' is loaded for the internal network connection.

It is done on a per connection basis, and need to be enabled for printing to work.

Connecting a local printer to network

by owenhewitt In reply to File and Printer sharing ...

I have connected a local printer to a machine and can print from that machine and others if logged in as admin.

But when a user logs on, the local printer cannot be seen, what could be the problem?
