WinXP Pro

By dcohick ·
I have a Win XP Pro machine that I would like to setup to reboot at 2:00 am daily. How do I make this happen. I assume I would do this in the task scheduler, however I don't know the commands to make this happen.
Thanks for your help.

Make a batch file that runs:

shutdown -r -m \\mypcname

Then schedule this for 2:00 am daily

-r is shutdown and restart
-m identifies the system

I used this and it worked just fine, however it was not necessary for me to use anything other than shutdown -r as I just wanted my machine to reboot.

You can create a scheduled task to run shutdown.exe

It should be in c:\winnt\system32 or it will be in

You can do a search for it on your computer to find the exact location if it is not one of the above.
