WinXP Pro can't synch network password

By dana803 ·
The user has Windows XP Pro. The network login is Novell, then comes the local Windows workstation login. On all other computers, there is a checkbox option on the windows login that basically says "change my windows password to match my netware password after successful login". We have people use this to synch their passwords again when the Novell password expires and changes. For this one user, that check box is greyed out and does not allow her to utilize it. She has manually change her password in Manage my computer, local users and groups, etc. She has client for microsoft networks installed. What else can cause this? Is there a local policy that can keep her from using this?? I appreciate any help.

Make sure Workstation Manager is installed and enabled to look after local Windows usernames.

Thank you. If I have the problem again, I'll try that, but I found out in this case that changing her windows password actually damages a certificate she uses for an important FED task for the bank. So, she has to keep downloading a new certificate when she does that. She realizes she'll just have to keep using the same windows password for now.
