WinXP Pro Remote Desktop

I have a PC with Win98Se OS and Office 2000 Std installed.
If I purchased a PC with WinXP Pro but did not have Office installed:

1.Can I use the WinXP Pro Remote Desktop feature to access all my data and use the Office application of the PC with Win98 & Office through my local intranet (not Internet)?
