WinXPPro-User Rights Setting

By Virgoan ·
My user wanted to make some changes to TCP/IP portion and save data into his USB thumb drive during his demo session at client place; but, as i have set his rights to "user" therefore he was unable to do the changed. Any idea where should i set the permission for these specific tasks? Is it in local security setting? Thanks in advance.

For the TCP/IP settings they would need to be logged in with Admin Privileges so if they had those rights then everything else should follow without problems.

Hopefully this is on a NB and easily recoverable once they manage to trash the OS and it's associated software as constantly running with Admin Rights isn't a great idea but is something that is forced on many of us by the Windows Kernel.

Thank you for your quick response!

Well, that's the only way i can do=give him the admin rights!!!

But, i don't want this to happen as some users might think that i am unfair...hence i hope i can have more controls besides allowing him to do some "necessary" changes.

Any good solutions for this? Thanks in advance.

Put the user in Network Configuration Operators.
He will have admin privileges for TCP/IP settings.
