On Domain or limited account?

by Dedlbug In reply to Win.XP.Pro

Do you know if your computer is on a domain or is it a stand-alone computer/personal computer. The following applies to a computer NOT a member of a domain.

Can you still log into your computer as normal? If so, "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Users Accounts". Check to see if your account says "limited" IF it says limited, you have to change that to Administrator. Keep in mind that if it says limited, chances are that someone else wanted your account to be limited.

You may have to boot into "Safe mode" to change the password or status of your account.
