I upgraded this client’s out of warranty Dell Dimension PIII, L933r (930MHz, 256MB ram) pc from WindowsME to WinXP without issues. Installed all printers originally without problems. Have performed all Windows Updates automatically. Recently installed new network color laser printer (ip address) and when i came to this pc to install, the Add Printer wizard doesn’t work nor do any of the printer icons appear (yet they do appear when selected from “print”. tried to turn spool off/on; doesn’t resolve; Installed Tweakui to restore icons; no help. Thought i might repair the windows install, but upgrades are more current that cd, no help there; by chance went to the add printer from “File, Print, Add Printer” and the printer wizard works from there… have searched hi & lo to find resolution, but have not had luck on MS website and the many articles i’ve read have not been too helpful.
Any suggestions?
