I am having problems trying to connect my xbox to my computer.
I have one machine (A1) in my office which is connected to the internet via a broadband connection. This computer has a wireless access point connected to it’s network card.
My second computer (GX1) is in a bedroom. this computer has a pci wireless access card fitted.
I have managed to setup the wireless link so that the GX1 can connect to A1 and use it’s internet connection.
Both machines are running XP.
The problem begins when I try to connect my xbox to the GX1 via a crossover cable into the GX1’s built in network port.
The GX1 activates the network port and seems to set this port as the main network connection so I loose the wireless connection to A1 and the network/internet.
The wireless connection does’t disconnect but when you try to ping the main computer A1 there is no reponce, also internet explorer cannot connect to my homepage.
If I disconnect the xbox the built in port disconnects and the wireless connection seems to take over again, I can access the network/internet.
Does anybody know how to stop the GX1’s network port from taking preference so I can access the network/internet on the xbox?
