I have an unusual problem. I reinstalled XP Professional on a Used IBM ThinkPad T40. I used an XP disk, not any IBM software. I also installed a Broadcom internal Wireless-G mini PCI card. I have all drivers installed, no missing ones.
Now my problem, when I boot the PC the wireless card will connect to my ActionTec wireless router. I am using WPA-PSK, and the ActionTec assigns an address with DHCP. I am letting Windows manage the connection.
However, if I do a repair or the wireless disconnects for any reason the wireless card will not reconnect. It sees the ActionTec, but stalls at the “Aquiring IP Address” step. It will not connect no matter what until I re-boot!
Any Ideas?
