Wireless for Dear Old Dad

By It's Just Me ·
My 81 year-old dad recently purchased a new Dell laptop and had the cable company set up a broadband modem for him. He is able to surf the internet and send e-mails (not bad for a novice!) I set up CrossLoop on his laptop so I could remote-control it.

He now wants to get wireless access so he can sit in his La-Z-Boy while using the laptop. Since he lives in Phoenix and I live in Cincinnati, I am unable to set it up for him in person. Can someone recommend an easy-to-set-up wireless router for him?

Ideally, I'd like to have him connect the router to the cable modem, connect his laptop to the router, get an internet connection, then have me connect to his laptop via CrossLoop and configure his wireless settings.

I'm looking for an easy to use and fairly reliable router. Speed and fancy features aren't important in this situation.

I use belkIN 54g 802.11g wireless router, it is easy to download it to the main PC, since he has a laptop either Windows Vista/ or WindOWS xp, on his laptop he can connect wirelessly from it just go to network, if you dont have an Orignal PC with the modem, your probably stuck, since you need 2 comnputer to connect wirelessly one to give the signal, and one to recieve the signal i live in Ontario.
