My 81 year-old dad recently purchased a new Dell laptop and had the cable company set up a broadband modem for him. He is able to surf the internet and send e-mails (not bad for a novice!) I set up CrossLoop on his laptop so I could remote-control it.
He now wants to get wireless access so he can sit in his La-Z-Boy while using the laptop. Since he lives in Phoenix and I live in Cincinnati, I am unable to set it up for him in person. Can someone recommend an easy-to-set-up wireless router for him?
Ideally, I’d like to have him connect the router to the cable modem, connect his laptop to the router, get an internet connection, then have me connect to his laptop via CrossLoop and configure his wireless settings.
I’m looking for an easy to use and fairly reliable router. Speed and fancy features aren’t important in this situation.
