I recently broke down and paid more than $20 for a mouse. First time I’ve spent that much on a mouse. I installed the software as per the instructions and attached the connector receiver to the usb port as per instruction. When I rebooted, nothing could make the mouse icon move. I then thought that maybe I should unattach the previous mouse so I did this and rebooted. Still no response from the mouse icon no matter how I moved the Intellimouse. I got more than 8″ away from the receiver, Igot within 8″, I pushed the button on the bottom which supposedly switches channesl. I plugged it into another usb (I only have two). Nothing I did worked. The software apparently installed correct as it shows up when I do a device driver check in the contol panel. I went online and read the faq’s at Microsoft.com, I’ve read and reread the instructions. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Only thing I can figure out is maybe something’s wrong with my usb port but I am not sure how totest a usb port (for functionality). Please, if anyone knows of a similar problem and a fix or just a suggestion, I’d really appreciate it. I’m trying to decide if I should take this mouse back but before I do, figured I’d ask first. I sincerely appreciate any help.
