Wireless modem and ethernet old computer

Okay, I am not a computer expert. Here is my situation. I have a modem from the cable company on the first floor. I need to connect to an older desktop pc on the third floor.

The older computer does not have wifi built into it. It does have an ethernet port for direct connection to a modem.

Can I buy something that picks up the wifi signal from the cable modem and then connect an ethernet cable to the receiver directly into the pc?
    Thanks in advance.

For this I rarely use the WiFi client device.

Instead I use PowerLine networking kits. Here’s an example for the USA:

The bonus for this is you get a strong WiFi hotspot along with your Ethernet port for the old computer.
