Suggestions for securing a wireless network at the Presentation level.

The Hub and Wireless network card both should be wep capable. This will help to secure access to your access point and network. In addition good user security and server management/access will work in conjunction with wep. This will secure your presentation level. Below is a what the presentation level does.

The presentation layer provides the following functions:

Character-code translation, such as from ASCII to EBCDIC.

Data conversion, such as bit order reversal, CR to CR/LF, and integer to floating point.

Data compression, which reduces the number of bits that need to be transmitted.

Data encryption and decryption, which secures data for transmission across a potentially insecure network. One use of encryption is for transmission of a password to a receiving computer.

Previous answer are correct, I can only very basic suggestion, that you should disable SSID presentation. It prevent unauthorized people from easy finding your network. If you need to configure the computer you gave user SSID or put it personally. There are really low risk if existence of the WLAN is not known to everybody.
