Wireless Network

By giving_it_large_1977 ·
I have set up a wireless network using an access point and two stations but now I would like to add an ADSL modem to the setup. I have noticed that my ASDL modem has an ethernet port, if I connect my access point to the ethernet port on the ASDL modem will my two stations have wireless access to the ASDL connection

Thanks for your help

Does your access point support NATing?
Nat allows translation from an internal ip range to a single or multiple external ip number(s). If your access point supports NAT then you should be able to configure this setup.

I belive the answer to your question is no. Wireless access points don't offer the routing or NAT needed for this. You need to get a wireless router like ones found here:
http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.asp?prodID=115&view=hm

or here:
http://www.linksys.com/Products/product.asp?grid=23&prid=415

Cisco and Siemens also offer these types and fairly cheap.
