Wireless Network HOME is not Accessible

by gadgetmd . Updated 22 years, 5 months ago

I just installed D-Link Wireless networking with DI-624 Access Router connected to Cox Cable Modem via Ethernet and to Desktop Win 2000 Professional via Ethernet. Laptop with DWL-G650 and Win 2000 Professional. Both computers are “setup” with TCP/IP protocol. DHCP controls dynamic IP addresses. Both computers can access the Internet, but cannot see each other or connect to each other. Under “My Network Places” Properties/ LAN Properties/General, Client of Microsoft Networks and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) are setup and checked on both computers. However, left clicking on LAN shows HOME workgroup, but left clicking on HOME results in the following error message: “HOME is not accessible. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.”

How can I resolve this issue?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!
