I have a 3Com Office Connect Wireless 11g Router which is connected via phone line and Intel(R) PRO/1000 GT card in my PC and a 3Com Office Connect Wireless 11g PMCIA card in my Laptop (I am running Windows-XP Pro on both). My problem is that I can connect to the internet from both my PC & Laptop via the Router but I can’t seem to get the two computers to allow access to each other (PC to PC network via. the wirless connection). I can see each PC on either computer from the workgroup I setup but niether will allow me access to the shared folders.
Using the Wireless Network Wizard in XP it asks me to insert a USB Flash Drive into the Wireless Access point then back into the same PC, do I therefore need this additional wireless access device, as my 3Com router does not have any USB ports. The bottom line is; I want to interrogate both PC’s from either PC not just have internet access with them. Can someone please help, I seem to have got in a knot between Wireless Internet access and Wireless Home Networking.
