By isyer ·
I have a Netgear-108 Mbps Wireless Firewall Router-WGT624, os is xp pro. The problem is this, I can not get the 2 computers to see each other, They both connect to the internet but A can not see B. I have even gone to netgear's support and they can't help me (its so hard when you can't even understand the support line-another country!). computer A is a 2.4 Mhz and B is a Sony laptop.

How did you configure the wireless connection? Are the computers on a workgroup, stand alone or domain base? try using the Network configuration wizard it helps.

Please provide the details

Check to see if you have windows XP firewall on. This may inhibit your connection. You may put them in a workgroup and try the network setup wizard. Try to connect to the PC's using //IPaddress in the run command.
If you are looking to share files then file sharing must be enabled.

Try first sharing at least one file or folder on each computer and then run the Network Setup Wizard again but this time allow File & Printer Sharing. If you do this properly you will be asked to reboot each computer when you have finished the Setup Wizard and it may be necessary to set a Workgroup that is used by the router on the Machines as you go through the setup procedure.

Lets know how you get on.
