wireless router dropping connection

By jploessl ·
I have a recently purchased wireless router and have experienced the wireless signal dropping from time to time. I've talked to many others who say this a problem with wireless router, I have heard to update the firmware but still notice the router dropping signal, Any ideas on way to keep a strong signal or do these just go bad after a little while. Your thoughts would be very helpful

Some names might help ...

Model Name & Number of wireless router.

Model Name & Number of what you're connecting to the wireless router.

Variety and Flavour of what operating system is running on whichever computers are connected to whatever router you are talking about.

Laptop/Wireless Card

If the wireless card you are using with your machine is a weak one, it may be the culprit.

Otherwise with the given information there is little to nothing I can deduce.

You also need to check for Interference

From other Wireless Devices like Cordless Phones, Cell Phones, Remote Control Units for TV,s Video's, DVD Players/Burners and so on.

Remember that other non computer devices like Garage Door Controllers and so on can affect this.

If that isn't the problem post back with the details of what you have.
