Wireless – XP – drive mapping problems

    Locked

    by cfizz34 ·

We are having a problem with our XP wireless boxes not mapping drives either the first time they log in or it will map the first time but not if they log out and right back in. We are using D-Link wireless cards DWL-G50’s.

      Okay first things first:

When the users log in and out, do you mean in and out of a Windows domain? Or on a workgroup?

Do you think this may be an issue with a service starting up and/or not starting up fast enough. And what gives with D-Link not mapping any drives if you log out and then back in…really a bad deal for any card?

They are logging into a Windows domain. Also, we have CISCO cards that we must wait 10 seconds before logging in (from a cold boot) or it will not map the drives. One last thing, we are now using NC6000 from HP with the built in Intel wirless NIC and it works great…no waiting….easy to configure…maps drives every time.
