PC: Packard Bell Platinum 2010X
HDD: 2.0gb Maxtor
Pentium I 166mhz
Ok. Here we have the pc will turn on, black screen comes up. After a few seconds we get a single beep. Then the screen flashes and goes back to a blank/black screen. And nothing. I am the 3rd Tech to look at this PC and I believe the first 2 did a very poor job in that they gave only hardware support and didn’t re-load the software. Unfortunatly I cannot get to the dos prompt to even attempt a reinstall. Nor can I access the CMOS options (The screen doesnt come up!) Neither will the win98 boot disk work either. I have also tried the PB Recovery boot disk and CD and that hasnt done anything either. How would I go about formatting the HDD and doing a clean restore from the CD from here? I CANNOT access the drive.
The cd-rom has been replaced as well as the HDD and the HDD cable.
Please, ANY suggestions are helpful here.
