    Hi,

I had a problem with my laptop, and from this site I was able to fix most of the problem, but there was one thing that didn’t work. I had an issue with my dll, so I created a boot disk and renamed the appropriate files but when I go to open servicepackfiles\i386 it says it’s an invalid directory, someone please help me find it, I tried using Dir to no avail, help please

So there’s a directory on the boot disk that you need to access and in windows its for e.g. d:\servicepackfiles\i386

through dos it likes to work with 8 char so when you go to dir in the root of d: you’ll prob see servi~1??

If so type in “cd servi~1”, that shoudl put you within the directory then “cd i386”, but just check that the directory is servi~1 or something similar, this when viewing in DOS.

      Hope this helps.
