Won’t prompt for administrative password

I am running Win2k Svpk IV. My computer logs on without prompting me for my administrative password. Problem seemed to occur after a failed attempt at a parallel install.

I have attempted to remedy the problem by changing settings in “users and passwords”, a field found in control panel, but to no avail.
I clicked on “advanced” fields twice and tried to set the password, but to no avail. Is there another command or control that I should be taking a look at?
