Word 2000 and global macros

by matt . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I have a client that is moving from WordPerfect, which gave them the ability to share macros with the entire network. It was rather easy, you set your macro directory to a directory on the server. With MSWord2K, it’s not as easy. I’ve tried adding anetwork directory to the startup option, and saved a .dot file there with a macro in it. What seemed to happen was the next system to access the folder, would copy the macro to their local normal.dot and delete the dot in startup. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
