I’ve got a problem with many clients using autotext in word 2002 (office XP, SP3), it seems that autotext gets saved to the normal.dot template and it works until logoff, then its lost.
We use Windows roaming profiles with a shared drive for templates and its never been a problem until now. The strange thing is that setting up a new user with the same setup (using the template shared folder) allows autotext to work for approx one day (with logoff/login’s). I’ve tried removing profiles, changing the template file locations in word and deleting the normal.dot template, etc, but nothing will fix it once it starts playing up. Its not the build at fault as once the problem starts, a user can sign into any pc and autotext just doesn’t work anymore.
Has anyone else had this problem? It must be a bug…
