Word Doc that cannot be edited/copied

By Baffled ·
Dear all,
I have come across a Microsoft Word document which written content cannot be edited nor copied. You cannot type anything on it. It is not a scanned image inserted as you can't hightlight it to copy.

Uncheck "Read Only" and save with a different name does not help.

Please comment as how to create such a file document.

Is there a software which integrates into Ms Word, creating such a unique template which is do not permit to edit nor copy its content?

I am working on Microsoft Word XP (2002) and cannot find the features to create such a document describe above. (Tools. Options > Security)

Do advise for it is an interesting measure to create a document of such a nature.

Regards,Alfred

Thank you. I have atated that I have done what you suggest. Quote: (Tools. Options> Security)

I think it is not within and quite possible to be an external software which integrates into MS OFFICE.

If I am wrong, please kindly point it out to me step by step.

Thank you once again and welome your participation.

Best Wishes,
Alfred

I suppose this Word document in question is created with an integrated program into Office. Reason is I have tried MS Office security features to what I know and it does not produce the attribute that this doc has:-
1)You cannot save (Ms Office has this feature)
2)There is no password prompt when opening this doc nor at any stage. (Ms Office hasn't this feature)
3)You cannot copy ( even the right click context does not appears)
4)It is not an image text file which is pasted onto Ms Words for I don't see any Table, rectangle boundary as with other image file I right-click.
5) You cannot highlight anything on it let alone saving it.
6) No tracking red fonts of changes appear as you cannot even typed anything on the doc.

You see the page but nothing appears at your cursor-clicks on it. The fonts and format on it are of MS Office origin.

Question is if Microsoft Office document features can produce this, I am ignorant of it.

Please direct.

Your advice is much valued.

Thank you always,
Alfred

I understand Office System 2003 has such a feature. I haven't used it myself, since I use office XP, but that's something you may want to check out.
