Word/Excel 2003 not attaching documents when using send to

I am encountering a problem all of a sudden. No changes have occurred to the system at all.

I have office 2003, when I try the file>send to>mail recipient as an attachment option from Word or Excel, it opens up an outlook message but there is no attachment with it.

This used to work as early as this morning, I have tried detect and repair and nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?
