In Word 2000, I would like to use the Cntrl-Enter sequence to make the pagebreak part of my replacement field, can you do it? if so, how?

Hiya, restating your question – you want to replace hard page breaks with something else, yes? Ctrl-Enter is one way to insert a page break into a document. (The Insert menu has another.)

To get Find/Replace to recognize a manual page break, use the special code ^m.

You can see a list of special codes like this under the Special tab at the bottom of the Find and Replace window.

      Hoping this helps…

To include page breaks etc. in your Find & Replace action,
      1. Type Control H (for Find & Replace)
      2. Select Special (bottom right of the Find & Replace screen in Word 97)
      3. Pick what you want to replace (in this case manual page break).

This(and the similarly useful Format feature) are rarely used by most users because nobody ever tells us about them. I only discovered their usefulness through Tech Republic!
