Word Macros/Templates

I’m trying to create a template for my office that should simplify our reports that we create. In our word documents we repeat the same text throughout different sections of the documents, such as the Date. I was wondering if there is a macro that would automatically change the text when one area was changed. For instance if the date on page 1 was changed to another date, is there something that would then change the date on page 10, 15 and 27? Just to clarify, I do know that word has the auto date feature, but sometimes the date we are referencing is not the current date.
