I have Office2000 Pro (SR1) installed (with Win98se). All was fine until this sequence:
user ran Defrag
user resized wallpaper picture (stretch)
user opened Word (and all menus and toolbars were gone, no “full screen toolbar” appeared to close full screen mode and go back to normal mode.
Since then I’ve:
run Detect and Repair on Office (through Excel, since I couldn’t open any menu items in Word — Alt+ key combos don’t work)
run Norton Utilities
run ScanDisk
removed and reinstalled Office
reloaded Win98se
Other Office apps are not affected by this problem — Word is the only app affected.
And, I just found out that my special licensing agreement for Microsoft makes me ineligible for any free support whatsoever.
