Installed IE 5.5 on several machines and athe response time in Word 97, from opening, opening files, writing to the screen, closing and saving files has increased, according to the users. The users use Word 97 almost exclusively (they are writers) so they know the program very well. Since I was also updating the machines with all the patches from MS, It took a while to narrow the problem down to IE 5.5. It also seems to slow down the machines as well. Setup is PII-233, 64 MB RAM, Windows 98, networked, File server is NetWare 3.2. Netscape 4.75 is also installed.
