workgroup setting fault?

By Virgoan ·
I got pc running on Win2k (Pro), computer name is 'James' and it's under workgroup 'A', uses OfficeXP (2002) application and therefore his logging is without a domain server('B' in here, platform is NT 4)

His email has both MSMail and Internet mail. The MSMail located at domain server 'B'.

Formerly, when i set that pc to joined the domain 'B'; he has no problem to access his MSMail. But now, he has problem to access, a log on menu was prompted for id and password!

Anyone know why this is happened? Hope to hear from you asap.

Thanks,
Fion

The last part of your explanation is a little confusing, but check the permissions/rights of whatever user was logged in at the time this happened.

NO problem for its permission/right! By the way, thank you for your reply.

I will assume that he is using Outlook as his email client. When outlooks try to access that MSMail box for the user it is asked by MSMail what the username and passsword is for the mail box, Outlook will responde using the logon credentials of the user that is loged in. Therefore I would first make sure that the logon username and password they are using for the Win2K machine is the same as what the Domain Contraler has set. Also make sure that MSMail has the same username and passwords set as well. I would check these three places first and make sure that all the credentials are the same.
