Working from home VPN / NAS

by danielccm . Updated 6 years ago

Hi!

I am going to be working from home for the forseeable future in my own business.

The setup goes like this:

Work Location:
– Printers
– Server with Windows Server (2019 if I’m not mistaken, could be wrong)

Home Location:
– Synology NAS
– Arriving this week Google Nest WiFI.

Both connected to the internet using cable broadband routers.

The thing is we have all the data at the work Location. I want to be able to work as if I were there.. as in, be able to send stuff to the printers, and also have a backup of the data that’s currently on the work server to the Synology NAS that’s here at home.

Although I’ve been tinkering with it for a while on a basic level, I am a total new comer to the complex network world…. But the main concepts are there…

Detailed instructions even if “generic” since the routers are different would be welcome….

If anything isn’t clear please say so…

Thanks!
